Patient 29
I was three when I learnt I had a rare, benign tumor on the shoulder of my dominant arm.
Naturally, it took many years to get a proper diagnosis (ten to be exact) and a couple more years to figure out what treatment suited me best.

In this process, I've had experiences that either left me scarred me for life, or made me feel medically neglected. Years later, I wondered if more people felt the way I did.

Starting in late 2023, I began working on my personal film Patient 29 as the final project to conclude my study at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

This film explores different facets of the medical industry including themes like workplace hierarchy, bureaucracy, unhelpful insurance, dealing with a chronic condition and most importantly, medical neglect.

Through the lens of Patient 29, the audience witnesses as she undergoes a routine procedure meant for her tumor. Everything that could go wrong, does.

This is a fictional film based on true events, and is currently under production.

Auntiji
A character I designed as a part of the Character Design elective at TH OWL, Germany
(Guided by Celia Kaspar)

North Indian weddings are glamorous and beautiful, and so are all the guests attending them.
When one is a wedding guest not close enough to the family to be actively participating in the rituals, but also close enough not to leave during the night, they find themselves waiting around the whole night, struggling to stay awake and pass time.

Auntiji is one such wedding guest, except she doesn't get to sit around thanks to her two very troublesome children. She is a single mother trying to keep her kids in check while trying not to create a scene. Her design is her journey through the night as she goes through all 5 stages of grief getting them to behave.

She is a very exhausted mother, much like a lot of the lovely women in my life. She is realistic, she cares, she works extremely hard and most of all, she is beautiful.

DOTLUX Mascot
Mascot design done as a part of the Media Project during my exchange semester at
TH OWL, Germany (Guided by Rico Dober)

I aimed to design a character that represented the duality of the DOTLUX GmbH company values.

While being playful, they are also steadfast to deliver the best quality. I represented this with a Lynx/Lux character (a pun on the company name) being playful in the day version while being serious, glowing and super fast at delivering in the night version.

Through the design I had to balance the ability for the mascot to stand next to the company typeface, design guide and retain the light-centric theme as DOTLUX is a Light-fixtures producing company.

This mascot's design was bought and later officially launched by DOTLUX GmbH.

It then went on to help DOTLUX win two German Brand Awards in 2025 in the categories of Lighting and Brand Innovation of the Year.
